DC CFAR COVID-19 Updates

DC CFAR partner institutions and community-based organizations have developed numerous excellent COVID-19 resources. We've included a collection of these below, along with a number of other opportunities for your reference. Educational Resources

• AVAC COVID-19 and HIV Resources
  • New document available to help advocates with links to the latest information about COVID-19, including information on its prevention, transmission, relationship to HIV and research that's underway. Revised infographic showing COVID-19 effects on key HIV prevention trials here. 
• The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed guidance for providing PrEP when facility-based services and in-person patient-clinician contact is limited.
• Children's National COVID-19 Resources for Primary Care Providers and Families
  • Children's National has compiled a number of resources for providers and to share with families on COVID-19.

  • Publication highligting HIV/AIDs responses that might apply to the COVID-19 efforts.

• COVID-101 Q&A Website
  • COVID-101 is doctor reviewed website with reliable and easy to understand answers on the COVID-19 Pandemic. The editorial team includes a number of collaborators from different institutions including DC CFAR Member Dr. Emily Smith (GW).
• DC COVID Connect
  • Living document compiled by medical students at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences on mass resources in Washington, D.C. during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• DC Health LinkU
  • LinkU now has a specialized COVID-19 Response Resource Guide. This guide contains available community, state, and federal resources to support our provider network the remainder of the coronavirus pandemic.
• Federal Resources on HIV and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • HIV.gov has curated a collection of key federal resources related to HIV and COVID-19 to assist in this effort
  • HIV.gov released a new "HIV Community and COVID-19 Resources" list which included a number of resources from different federal partners.
• HPTN COVID-19 Resource Center
  • Resources and information on COVID-19 compiled by the HPTN Leadership Team.
• International AIDS Society Resources on COVID-19
  • The International AIDS Society has a number of educational resources on HIV and COVID-19.
• GW Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library COVID-19 Resources and News
• National Academies of Sciences Engineering Medicine COVID-19 Resources Collection
  • The collection is a compilation of resources related to COVID-19. The publications explore prevention, response, and recovery from pandemic infectious disease.
• NIH COVID-19  Health Information
• NIH Open-Access Data and Computational Resources to Address COVID-19
  • COVID-19 open-access data and computational resources are being provided by federal agencies, including NIH, public consortia, and private entities. These resources are freely available to researchers, and this page will be updated as more information becomes available. 
• Northwestern: Resources to support health and wellbeing during COVID-19
  • To help make sure members from the LGBTQ+ communities, people of color, people with HIV, working class people, undocumented and incarcerated people, and others are especially vulnerable at this time have access to the support you need in the immediate term, Northwestern has compiled a list of free and accessible resources.

• The HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) Community Partners created a resources and information on the COVID-19 pandemic web page and key messages for HIV Community Advisory Groups/Community Members & Stakeholders

  • NIH Policy and Compliance updates affected by COVID-19 
• COVID-19 Specific Survey Items Now Available on the NIH Disaster Research Response (DR2) Platform
  • The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) host the DR2 site which now includes a list of COVID-19 surveys and the domains assessed in the surveys.
• COVID-19 Specific Survey Items Now Available on PhenX Platform
  • The PhenX Toolkit now includes a list of COVID-19 related measurement protocols drawn from the surveys listed in DR2.

  • The Emory CFAR team has compiled a summary to know about COVID-19 and NIH funded research, flexibilities, and adaptations.

  • In response to the current pandemic, Health Education & Behavior (HE&B) invites authors to submit perspectives on COVID-19 and health education and health behavior processes.
